Recipe to prepare Rompope
Recipe of how to make Rompope. A traditional Christmas drink in homes in Honduras.
- 4 egg yolks
- 6 cups of milk
- 1 cup of sugar
- ½ cup of almonds
- Rum to taste
- Soak the almonds in boiling water and peel them. Then, blend the almonds with a little milk until smooth.
- Boil the milk and add the sugar and the blended almonds. Continuously stir with wooden shovel until slightly thickened. Take it off the heat.
- Beat the yolks with the rum and add them, little by little, continuing to stir until they are well incorporated into the milk.
- Let cool and package in glass bottle.
