Biography of Hernan Acosta Mejia
He was born in La Ceiba in 1918 and died in Tegucigalpa in 1962.
He began his military career as a flight cadet in 1941 at the Military Aviation School, eventually becoming the Chief of the Air Force. He rose to the rank of Colonel and lost his life while on duty in 1962.
In honor of his death, an air base now bears his name. Hernán Acosta Mejía Air Base
