Biography of Luis Bográn
According to Laura Gálvez, it was the Bográn Administration (1883-1891) that took the necessary steps to promote the activities of foreigners in the national economy, laying the groundwork for future foreign investments.
Among the most important achievements of the Bográn Administration were the establishment of incentives for mining activities and the acceleration of the necessary infrastructure, especially the roads connecting the mines in central Honduras with the ports of San Lorenzo and Amapala in the Pacific.
According to Charles Brand, the peak and decline of the mining industry occurred during the two presidential terms of Bográn.
