Song – El Pitero (Folkloric)

So clean I was
That yesterday I moved
Looking for Pitero
I got all muddy.

Catch him, catch him,
He went in there
Don’t let that beautiful Pitero
Escape from me.

He went into the woods
I search for him with a light
And Pitero comes out
Saying «Oh Jesus!»

Pitero is fat
To relieve ailments
And ten pesos come out
From nacatamales.

Uchú, countryside girl
Uchú, fantasy
Catch him tight
By the tail, (repeat).

The Indian likes
The golden corn,
But he likes
The well-fried Pitero more.

The Indian likes
The yellow corn,
But he likes
The dappled Pitero more.

To relieve ailments
Ladies and gentlemen, I trust you,
Who wants to eat
A Pitero tamale.

Pitero tamale
I don’t eat it,
Because my grandmother
Died from it.
