Lyrics: Adán Fúnez Donaire
Music: Carlos Enríquez
There come the little Indians,
up the Picacho hill,
with their load of beans
to sell in the city.
Upon reaching Los Dolores,
they sell them to Ña Ofelia,
and return very happy
to their cornfield hut.
As they walk along the road,
they think about their cornfields
and their red mules
that provide for their living.
Their wives await them
over there in El Matazano,
they have the beans ready
to give them for lunch.
Well-fed and content,
they rest for a while,
then they light up a good cigar
and start smoking it.
As night falls,
everyone thinks of sleeping,
to wake up happy
and continue their work.
