Day of Solidarity with Persons with Disabilities
Every last Friday of April, the Day of Solidarity with Persons with Disabilities is celebrated in Honduras as part of the Week of Solidarity with Persons with Disabilities.
By Legislative Decree No. 56-84, the National Congress of Honduras declared that the last Friday of April would be celebrated as the «Day of Solidarity with Persons with Disabilities» to promote their social inclusion and uphold their rights.
Currently, persons with disabilities face daily acts of discrimination in various areas of society, and it is the obligation of the State of Honduras to ensure that they achieve their maximum development and full social participation, as well as exercise their rights and responsibilities.
