Municipality of Ilama
Ilama is a municipality in the department of Santa Bárbara in Honduras.
Formerly, the population was called Ilamatepeque, which means in Nahuatl «Hill of the Old Woman».
The patron saint of the municipality is the Virgin of Lourdes, and her feast is celebrated on the 11th and 12th of February each year.
Location
The municipality borders to the north with the municipalities of Chinda and Trinidad, to the south with the municipality of Santa Bárbara, to the east with the municipalities of San Francisco de Yojoa and San Antonio de Cortes, and to the west with the municipalities of Colinas and Gualala.
