Municipality of Manto
Manto is a municipality in the Department of Olancho of Honduras.
The town of Manto is a colonial town, with its foundation dating back to the year 1500.
Location
It is located northwest of the departmental seat (Juticalpa) and is a former departmental seat, situated on the left bank of the «Manto River» and at the foot of the «Cerro de la Cruz» (Hill of the Cross).
Boundaries
The Municipality of Manto borders Jano, Guata, and Gualaco to the north, Silca and Juticalpa to the south, San Francisco de la Paz and Guarizama to the east, and Salamá and Silca to the west.

Population
Currently, it has a population of 10,210 inhabitants.
It is a municipality that has prospered greatly in recent years. It now has basic services such as primary schools, secondary schools, electricity, potable water, telephone service, and internet access.
It is well-known for its Patronal Fair in honor of the patron saint «El Señor de la Agonía» (The Lord of Agony). The fair features the participation of young women competing for the crown to be elected as the patronal queen.
