Biography of Hipólito Casiano Flores
He was born in San Antonio de Flores, died in Comayagua. A priest of the regular clergy, he was Bishop of Honduras between 1854-1857.
He tried the reform of the clergy, for which he forced some priests to change parish, insisting much more on the discipline of the clergy and on the rights of the Church.
After his death and the outbreak of the so-called War of the Parents, in opposition to the Guardiola administration, the state authority imposed its criteria for the appointment of the new Bishop.
