Municipality of Concepción Ocotepeque
Concepción is a municipality in the Ocotepeque Department in Honduras.
In the year 1836, it was called El Jute. In 1875, it was granted municipality status and was named Concepción del Jute. It appeared as such in the Territorial Political Division of 1889, as part of the Ocotepeque District. Eventually, it was simply named Concepción.
Location
The municipality borders the Republic of Guatemala to the north, Sinuapa and Ocotepeque to the south, Dolores Merendón and Sinuapa to the east, and Santa Fe to the west. It is located in the Ocotepeque Valley, near Cerro San Jerónimo.
