Municipality of Dolores Intibucá
The municipality of Dolores belongs to the Intibucá Department.
In the report of 1582, made by Governor Alonso de Contreras Guevara, it appears with the name Yolula with twenty indigenous tributaries entrusted to Joan Rodríguez. In 1883, it appears as a municipal category assigned to the circle of La Esperanza, then part of the department of Gracias (now Lempira), and became part of the department of Intibucá when it was created.
