Municipality of El Corpus
It is a municipality of the Department of Choluteca, in the Republic of Honduras.
In the process of colonial expansion, the Spanish found important mining centers in the 16th century in the southern region of Honduras, including El Corpus with its Baldoquin and El Clavo Rico mines, from which the Spanish crown obtained income through the royal fifth. It achieved the status of municipality on July 27, 1827.

Location
The municipality is located east of the department, and its headquarters is situated in a depression formed by several hills from where the coastal plain of the Pacific can be observed.
