Municipality of La Venta
It is a municipality in the department of Francisco Morazán, in the Republic of Honduras.
In the population census of 1801, it appears as part of the sub-delegation of Tegucigalpa.
It was granted municipality status in 1889, as by that time, during the political territorial division, it was already recognized as such, forming part of the district of Sabanagrande.

- Education: 31 basic education centers, 18 pre-basic education centers, and 2 middle education centers.
- Communication network: Paved road leading south, followed by an all-weather dirt road, Hondutel telephone service, and mobile phone coverage.
Location
Located on a small plateau at the height of the Moramulca River.
Limits
- North: Municipality of Sabanagrande;
- South: Municipalities of San Isidro and San Antonio de Flores (both in Choluteca);
- East: Municipality of Sabanagrande;
- West: Municipalities of Reitoca and San José (Choluteca).
