Municipality of Moroceli
It is a municipality in the Department of El Paraíso, in the Republic of Honduras.
In the population census of 1791, it appears as a valley within the jurisdiction of Cantarranas. It was established as a municipality in 1864, and in the political territorial division of 1889, it is already listed as a municipality of El Paraíso.

Origin of its name: In the native language, it means «river of sparrows.»

Location
Located in a small valley, twelve kilometers away from the Choluteca River, surrounded by hills and valleys.

- South: municipality of Yuscarán;
- East: municipalities of Teupasenti, Potrerillos, and Jacaleapa;
- West: municipalities of San Antonio de Oriente, Valle de Ángeles, and Villa de San Francisco (all in Francisco Morazán).
