Municipality of Morolica
It is a municipality of the Department of Choluteca, in the Republic of Honduras.
Morolica is recorded in the 1889 statistical yearbook by Presbyter Ramón A. Vallejo, and its foundation dates back to 1824. It was granted municipality status in 1843 under the administration of General Francisco Ferrera.

Origin of its name: In the Mesoamerican language, it means «in the water of the sparrows.»

Main economic activity
Cultivation of sugarcane, corn, sorghum, forage sorghum, sweet peppers, potatoes, tubers, beans, pineapple, and cashew; raising of cattle, pigs, horses, and goats; poultry and rabbit farming; industries: pottery, mezcal products, roofing tiles, leatherwork, carpentry, and ironwork.

Location
It is located in the northeast of the department, with its headquarters situated north of the Grande or Choluteca River.

- South: Municipality of San Marcos de Colón
- East: Municipality of Duyure
- West: Municipalities of Apacilagua, Vado Ancho, and Liure (the last two in El Paraíso).
