Municipality of Ramón Villeda Morales
It is a municipality in the department of Gracias a Dios, in the Republic of Honduras.
It is one of the recently created municipalities, although it was originally a Misquito settlement located in the easternmost part of the country at the latitude of 15° 00′. It was granted municipal status in 1996, during the presidency of Dr. Carlos Roberto Reina.

Origin of its name: The municipality is named in honor of the president Ramón Villeda Morales (1957-1963).

Location
It is located in the easternmost part of the country at the Cape of Gracias a Dios, bordering the Caribbean Sea and the Republic of Nicaragua.
