Municipality of Villa de San Francisco

It is a municipality in the department of Francisco Morazán, in the Republic of Honduras.

The exact founding date is not specified, but in the territorial political division of 1896, it appears as a village of the municipality of San Juan de Flores.

The municipality status was granted on August 22, 1923, upon the request of its residents, during the presidency of Rafael López Gutiérrez.
