Municipality of El Paraiso Copan

El Paraíso is a municipality in the department of Copán in Honduras.

The Political Governorship of the Department, on behalf of the Executive Power, issued an agreement dated October 29, 1891, creating the Municipality of El Paraíso de Copán. It would be formed by the villages of Tapesco, El Cisne, Santa Cruz, El Chorro, and La Novedad, belonging to the circle of Trinidad and Quezailica lands.

Location

The municipality borders the Republic of Guatemala to the north, Santa Rita and San Jerónimo to the south, San Antonio and Florida to the east, and Copán Ruinas to the west.
It is situated in the angle formed by the department of Copán and the Republic of Guatemala in the west. Its headquarters is located in the valley of the same name, along the Rosario River.
