April 17 – World Hemophilia Day
The World Federation of Hemophilia began commemorating World Hemophilia Day in 1989. April 17 was chosen as the official date in honor of the founder of the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH), Frank Schnabel, who was born on that day.
Honduran Hemophilia Society
The Honduran Hemophilia Society was established in 1986 by individuals with coagulation disorders, their families, and friends.
In 1987, through their hard work and performance, the organization obtained legal recognition under Resolution No. 322-1987 of the National Congress, with Ms. Gloria Argentina Castro Alvarado as its legal representative.
In 1998, the HHS was revived, and once again, we united efforts with a strong commitment to work for our society.
Through many years of labor and continuous effort, we have managed to sustain ourselves as a serious and responsible society to this day.
