October 28 – National Youth Day
DECREE No. 96-91
CONSIDERING: That the Honduran youth represents a high percentage of the national population.
CONSIDERING: The interest that the State, its Institutions, and all citizens have conferred to the Honduran youth, manifested through the creation of the National Youth Council.
CONSIDERING: That the creation of the aforementioned National Youth Council was approved on October 28th, representing an important day for Honduran youth.
THEREFORE, IT IS DECREED:
Article 1.- Declare October 28th of each year as the «NATIONAL YOUTH DAY».
Article 2.- The celebration of this day will be coordinated and planned by the National Youth Council and the State through all its institutions. Likewise, any private organization related to youth shall provide collaboration.
Article 3.- This celebration should be oriented towards activities that motivate youth to participate in personal development, love for the country, respect, and service to the community.
Article 4.- This Decree shall come into effect after its publication in the Official Gazette «La Gaceta».
Given in the city of Tegucigalpa, M.D.C., in the Session Hall of the National Congress, on the 30th day of June, nineteen hundred and ninety-one.
