Municipality of Cabañas
The municipality of Cabañas belongs to the Department of La Paz.
Previously known as the village of Similaton, according to the ecclesiastical census of 1791, it belonged to the curacy of Cururú. In the first political division of 1825, it appears as a parish in the Goascorán district. It was designated as a municipality on March 9, 1897, under the presidency of Policarpo Bonilla, and has been known by its current name since then.

Location
