Municipality of Chinacla
The municipality of Chinacla belongs to the Department of La Paz.
By 1582, according to the report of Governor Alonso de Contreras Guevara, it is already mentioned as an indigenous town of the city of Comayagua with 34 tributaries entrusted to Luisa de Ramos. In the ecclesiastical census of 1791, it appears as a parish located at a point called Choacapa.
In Vallejo’s statistical yearbook of 1889, it already appears as a municipality, with a creation date of 1876, when the Military Reform took place.
