Municipality of Jano
Jano is a municipality in the Department of Olancho of Honduras.
In the population census of 1791, it was part of the curato of Silca, and in the 1889 Territorial Political Division, it was a municipality in the Manto District.
Location
The municipality borders Esquipulas del Norte to the north, Salamá and Manto to the south, Guata to the east, and La Unión to the west. It is located on the left bank of the Jimine or Simón River and between the foothills of the Agalta Mountain Range.
