Municipality of Reitoca
It is a municipality in the department of Francisco Morazán, in the Republic of Honduras.
In the report of Governor Alonso de Contreras Guevara from 1582, it is mentioned as Reitoca with fifty indigenous tributaries entrusted to Antonio Enriquez. Ecclesiastical records indicate parishioner registrations from 1694, where Reitoca appears as a municipality.
Later, it was classified as a village until 1832 when it regained the status of a municipality.
The first political territorial division of 1825 records Reitoca as part of Comayagua, but it was not until 1878 that it was annexed to Tegucigalpa (now Francisco Morazán).
