Municipality of Alianza
Alianza is a municipality in the department of Valle in Honduras.
Location
The municipality borders the municipality of Goascorán to the north, the Gulf of Fonseca to the south, the municipality of Nacaome to the east, and the Republic of El Salvador to the west.
Historical Facts
It was founded by the Chortis indigenous people and was initially known as Hacienda de Mongoya, which belonged to Goascorán. It wasn’t until 1847 that it was recognized as a municipality with the name Alianza.
