Customs of Honduras

Honduras has 17 customs offices, according to the Revenue Administration Service (SAR), of which 9 are land, 3 are air, and 8 are maritime, including Puerto Cortés, a certified port, through which most Central American products are shipped to the Atlantic Ocean.

The Customs System in Honduras is within the structure of the Ministry of Finance under the name of the Executive Directorate of Revenue (now the Revenue Administration Service – SAR), established in November 1994. This directorate was born from the merger of the General Directorate of Customs and the General Directorate of Taxation, and assumed its functions and attributions as such from February 1995.
